Part 1 of "They say, I say" is segmented in to 3 sub-parts: piece 1-"they say", Piece 2 "her point is", and point 3 "as he himself puts it"
Part 1-They say. This section in short summarizes the introduction and uses on what others say with out using exact quotes. The section goes on to explain that while quotes would be normally used for exact sentences; whole sections of books or reports can be summarized used in the techniques used in "they say"
Part 2-Her point is. The next section in question solely based on the large subject of summarizing techniques. The basis of the section is the basic when, where and how of how to use a summary correctly.
Part 3-As he puts himself. The last section of part 1 is based completely on quotes. The section goes on to explain the correct or incorrect use of quotes can either make or break any kind of paper.

week 4/ ex. 1/ quotes

"The attack on the hotel is a message to the Pakistani leadership: End all cooperation with the Americans or pay the price." was a quote given in an article over a recent bombing by Pakistani professor Bryan Glyn Williams.
In this particular article the writer inserts this quote in the beginning of a paragraph to show the support of the Pakistani views that the u.s. should cut its alliance with Pakistan. there are no suggestions I would make for this article.

Texting Causes Trainwreck?(Response/week 3)

Another texting debacle? A train wreck in Los Angeles during the 7'o clock hour on Monday is being investigated after two teenagers came forward claiming to be texting the engineer while the train was moving. The train itself did not stop at a stop signal and barreled head on into an oncoming train killing 25 people and injuring 138 more. This is being recorded as the worst train collision in 15 years.

My reaction to this is simple. Texting is a hazard while driving any kind of vehicle. It is true that proper safety measures for incidents like these have been approved but not instigated. that however does not relieve the engineer of all responsibility. although nothing has been proven for sure I still See this lapse in judgement as just one more reason why texting should be disabled or outlawed by any kind of transportation workers. If its your life you are endangering, that's your choice, but when you endanger the lives of others then you cross a line and I feel the author of this news article(posted below) would agree with me. As my old history teacher used to say "your right to swing your fist ends where the other guys nose begins".

week 3/assignment 2 (Common Misconception)

In the past few years there has been a growing number of people who have gained this very weird and very wrong idea that all Muslims and all Muslim nations are terrorist cells hell bent on destroying the U.S. This idea was more of a minor one up until the September 11th attacks. with the war on terror going on this "Common misconception" has been blown out of proportion by the media as well as some popular entertainment i.e. stand up comics, the movie team America, etc...

The truth is while many Muslims may not LOVE the U.S. they do not in specific all want to kill us. most of them dislike Americans mainly for the fact that they have so much and they take it all for granted while most Muslim countries are disease riddled and impoverished. It is true that many Muslim nations will give safe harbor to terrorist cells but the beliefs of the corrupt leaders of Muslim governments does not reflect that of all Muslims. They are not as bad as the media has made them ALL out to be.

week 3/assgnment 1

I am not entirley sure yet what all I will utilize from what I learned in the reading assignment. I do know that I will be using a chronological organizing system as well as relating as much to any reading audience as I possibly can.
